LG G5 vs S95F questions answered
Is the LG G5 or Samsung S95F better in 2026?+
Both are flagship OLED TVs and either is excellent. The LG G5 wins for gaming (Dolby Vision Gaming at 4K/120, wider VRR range, 5-year burn-in warranty). The Samsung S95F wins for bright-room viewing (matte anti-glare, brighter peak, OneConnect Box). They tie on dark-room movie picture, with a slight Samsung edge on HDR brightness and a slight LG edge on processing.
Does the Samsung S95F support Dolby Vision?+
No. Samsung does not licence Dolby Vision in any product line, including the S95F. It supports HDR10+ instead. For Dolby Vision sources (Apple TV+, Disney+, Netflix premium tier), the S95F falls back to HDR10. The LG G5 supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10 fully.
What is the matte coating on Samsung S95F?+
The Samsung S95D and S95F use a proprietary OLED Glare-Free matte anti-reflective coating, the only matte-coated OLED on the market. It diffuses reflections in bright rooms but slightly raises perceived black level vs the semi-glossy LG G5. For bright living rooms with windows, the matte coating is a major advantage. For controlled-light cinema rooms it is a small negative.
Which has better gaming, LG G5 or Samsung S95F?+
LG G5 wins on gaming features: Dolby Vision Gaming at 4K/120Hz (Samsung does not support), 20 to 144Hz VRR range (Samsung is 48 to 144Hz), and a 5-year burn-in warranty. Both have four HDMI 2.1 ports, 0.1ms response, and ALLM. For Xbox Series X owners the LG G5 is clearly better (Dolby Vision Gaming exclusive). For PS5 the difference is smaller.
